Washington Irving Elementary

Welcome to Washington Irving Elementary

Welcome to Washington Irving Elementary, an award winning elementary school, where students have been reaching great heights since 1926.  Recently named a High Performing School by the Oklahoma Department of Education, WI takes great pride in being a Distinguished Title 1 School and an Excellence Level Certified Healthy School.  This recognition was achieved through the hard work of our outstanding students and parents, as well as the expertise of our dedicated staff. The WI faculty boasts 38 Highly Qualified Teachers, 30 of whom hold Masters of Education Degrees and 2 who are National Board Certified.

Our WI Family works together to create an engaging environment that promotes an excitement and eagerness for learning. Parents and community members are encouraged to participate at our school. We ask for your support, ideas and suggestions. We invite you to join our Parent Support Organization which is a vital resource for our students and teachers. The WI PSO provides generous support and funding for our extra-curricular activities by paying admission costs for WI students to attend fieldtrips, purchasing playground water fountains and other equipment, providing classrooms with specialized materials, and organizing school events such as our traditional Hotdog Howdy!

The faculty, administration and students of our school invite you to visit and see for yourself why Washington Irving Elementary is a Great Place for Little Lions to Learn!

Once a Lion, Always a Lion!
