- The University of Oklahoma is offering 5 ACT Preparation Courses during the school year. Each course is on a Saturday and the cost is $90.00. Interested students should contact the counselors for dates and registration forms.
- PETERSON'S EDGE

Peterson’s Student Edge program is offering free online access to the college selection, test prep, homework help, and financial aid tools to get started on the road to success. Beginning September 1, you have a chance to win scholarship money and money for your school. Every two weeks the school with the most new registrations will win $1000. Student, parent, and administrator registrations count toward the contest. Each week the student with the most logins will win $1000 in scholarship money. - JOHN F. KENNEDY PROFILE IN COURAGE
- John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay invites high school students to write an original essay about an elected official who has demonstrated political courage. Essay should be 1000 words or less. Students should use a variety of sources such as newspaper articles, books, and/or personal interviews to address the topic: Describe and analyze the decisions, actions, and risks of an elected public official in the United States since 1956 who has courageously addressed a political issue at the local, state, nation, or international level. Winning essayists will receive awards totaling up to $13,500. First place winner will be invited to accept the award at the Profile in Courage Award Ceremony hosted each May by Caroline Kennedy in Boston. The nominating teacher will receive a grant for $500. Bacone College is offering two new scholarships. The Opportunity Scholarship is 25% off tuition, room and board renewable up to four years. The Success Scholarship is 35% off tuition, only and is renewable up to four years as well. Students interested in Bacone College should contact the counselors as soon as possible to begin the admissions process.

- McAlester Scottish Rite Foundation
- John T. Liebrand Memorial Scholarship is for $1000 non-renewable to an Oklahoma College or university for 2010-2011 freshmen only. Applications are available in the counselors' offices. Applications must include transcript with ACT scores, 3 letters of recommendation, and completed application form. Selections will be based on evidence of good moral character, financial need, scholastic ability, career goals, evidence of high standards of patriotism.

- Kimberly Holder Bradford Scholarship
- The family of Kimberly Holder Bradford is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior of Durant High School. Applications are available in the office. Application must include completed application form, official transcript and resume. Deadline for applying is May 1, 2010.
- Durant Masonic Lodge #45
- The Durant Masonic Lodge #45 is accepting applications for scholarships. Applications must include completed form, 150 or less essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Applications are available in the counselors' office. Completed applications must be received by May 1, 2010.
- Marchello Cavallo Baseball Scholarlship

Applications are available for the MARCHELLO CAVALLO BASEBALL SCHOLARHSIP. Seniors who will be playing either baseball or softball at the collegiate level will be eligible to apply. This scholarship will be in the amount of $500. The application deadline is May 15, 2010. Seniors may pick up an application in the counselors’ offices.
- Durant Elks Lodge #1963
- The Durant Elk's Lodge is offering a $500 scholarship for 6 students planning to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Applications and complete guidelines are available in the counselors' office. Deadline for submitting applications is May 14, 2010.

The Durant Lion’s Club is offering a $500 scholarship for a deserving senior student. Guidelines include a minimum GPA of 3.0, minimum ACT score of 19, not be related to a Lion’s Club member and complete and turn in the application on time. The application is available in the counselors’ office. Deadline is May 21, 2010.

- Jason C. Wagner Foundation
- The Foundation will award college scholarships to high school seniors in the state of Oklahoma with financial need and most exemplify integrity, intelligence, and kindness. Qualifying and eligible students will be required to submit an application and essay to the Foundation.
